The p-values listed over each pair of box plots are derived from two-sided two-sample t-tests and are not corrected for multiple comparisons. The solid lines indicate the median for each group, the box edges the interquartile range, and the whiskers the most extreme data points no more than 1.5 times the interquartile range from the median. Notches show robust estimates of the medians. Corresponding means and standard deviations are provided in Table 2.
