SbMATE relative expression was determined using quantitative real-time PCR with expression in the Al sensitive line, BR012, as a reference. 18S ribosomal RNA was used as internal control. The first centimeter from root apices cut from roots of intact plants exposed to {27} µM Al³⁺ in nutrient solution at pH 4.0 for 5 days were harvested for total RNA isolation. Twenty-eight apices per experimental unit (genotype) were collected and the bars indicate standard deviations based on 3 technical reps.
