IL-17 induces histatin 1 in HSG cells. HSG cells grown on GFR-Matrigel for 2 days were stimulated for 48h with IL-17 (50, 200, or 500 ng ml−1), TNFα (2 or 100 ng ml−1), and IL-22 (200 ng ml−1). Lysates were analyzed for histatins by acid-urea SDS-PAGE as described in Figure 2 and quantified by densitometry (units/10). *P<0.05 by two-tailed t-test compared with untreated controls.
