Serum from Lm-infected p47phox-/- mice is protective against secondary Lm challenge. Ten WT and p47phox-/- mice that survived primary i.v. Lm infection received 200 mL of pooled serum from the WT and p47phox-/- mice that survived Lm secondary reinfection, before reinfection with 10× LD50 of Lm.
