Real-time PCR was utilized to detect (a) CD3 ε gene expression (a molecular marker for all TCR-bearing T cells) or (b) Vα24 (a molecular marker for NKT cells) using identical methods (single round of PCR amplification, with SYBER green fluorescence dye for real-time PCR detection.
