The indomethacin-induced cellular lipid peroxidation was measured with DPPP-oxide fluorescence. Fluorescence intensity was measured with a high-sensitivity camera-mounted epifluorescence microscope system. Cells with the indomethacin treatment emitted detectable DPPP fluorescence, and 24 h pretreatment of lansoprazole significantly reduced the intensity of DPPP fluorescence (101.5 ± 8.9 vs 16.0 ± 4.0). *p<0.05 vs indomethacin.
