Breast meat yellowness (BCo-Y) and relative BCMO1 mRNA level (2^{(dCT BCMO1-dCT 18S)}) were measured in the Pectoralis major muscle of birds homozygous at the BCMO1 locus (n = 11 for AN₅₇G and n = 12 for GN₅₇G). BCo-Y value was significantly lower (***, P<0.001) while BCMO1 mRNA level was higher (***, P<0.001) in AN₅₇G than in GN₅₇G.
