Total amount of C fixed in leaf and C respired in leaf and bulb during the entire epigeous growth period are indicated. Total net amount of C incorporated was estimated as [leaf C fixed–(leaf C respirated+Bulb C respirated)] and then compared with the amount of C accumulated in the bulb as starch at the end of leaf senescence. C accumulation efficiency was estimated as the ratio of C accumulated as starch/Net C incorporated.
