Organization of B. cenocepacia genes investigated in this study. The gene locus tags, direction of transcription, and sequence coordinates are shown according to the published genomic sequence of B. cenocepacia J2315, available at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute website. The gene designations are proposed here on the basis of homology of the predicted products to their counterparts in E. coli (or other bacteria; see the text). Intergenic regions used for construction of fusions to the lacZ reporter gene and for binding of CysB and SsuR proteins are indicated by arrowheads. Sizes of these regions (bp) and sequence coordinates relative to the first base of the translation initiation codon of the following ORFs are shown below.
