The plants were grown in nutrient solution that contained (+Fe) or omitted (−Fe) Fe-EDTA. For pharmacological treatment, either 1 mM Gly, 2 mM or 0.15 mM tungstate were added to the –Fe solution. The NR activities and the lateral roots numbers were analysed on the 6th day of treatment. Data are means ±SD (n=8). Different letters indicate significant differences (P <0.05) between treatments.
