MDS42 and MDS42 mutants carrying an rrnH 16S - luc fusion were grown overnight in LB at 37°C (stationary phase), diluted 1:50, and incubated at 37°C to OD600 0.20 – 0.45 (log phase). Initial OD600 and viability were equivalent for the three strains. Shown is a representative experiment; assays were performed at least 4 times with equivalent results.
