CRL1601 cells were transfected with indicated NPC1L1-EGFP variants. 48 h after transfection, the cells were incubated in cholesterol-depleting medium for 60 min (Chol−) followed by cholesterol replenishment with 37.5 μm cyclodextrin-coated cholesterol for 60 min (Chol+).
