Effect of globular adiponectin on the expression of interleukin (IL)-6 and IL-8 in periodontal ligament fibroblasts. Periodontal ligament fibroblasts were treated with murine myeloma cell-derived globular adiponectin (M-gAd, 15 µg/mL), Escherichia coli-derived gAd (E-gAd, 15 µg/mL), or lipopolysaccharide (LPS) (100 ng/mL) in the presence or absence of polymyxin B (100 µg/mL) for 24 hours. Levels of IL-6 (A) and IL-8 (B) in culture supernatants were assayed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.
