The Brn3a/Islet1 compound sensory phenotype at mid-gestation. The profound defects in peripheral innervation noted at E12.5 persist at E14.5 in the DRG (A–D) and the TG (E–H). The size of the ganglia are markedly reduced in Islet1 CKO embryos. In DKO embryos, the DRG are displaced dorsally and the dorsal roots are markedly foreshortened (arrows, D).
