Values of r2 and P are given for significant and borderline regressions. Data are the mean ± s.e. for each species. The means were calculated by weighing the relative contribution of orthotropic and plagiotropic shoots to the foliage of each species. The species are: Hydrangea serratifolia, Boquila trifoliolata, Luzuriaga radicans, Cissus striata, Elytropus chilensis, Luzuriaga polyphylla and Mitraria coccinea.
