Glu, glutamate; Spd, spermidine; Cad, cadaverine; Put; putrescine; DAP, diaminopropane; β-Ala, β-alanine; GABA, γ-aminobutyrate. All supplements were added to 10 mM except β-alanine to 2.5 mM. Growth on the plates was recorded in 48 h at 37°C. −, No growth after 48 h; +, growth after 24 h; +/−, growth after 48 h. All unmarked deletion mutants were derived from PAO1.
