DNA methylation and H3K4me3/H3K27me3 are mutually exclusive on the majority of genomic locations. (A) Distribution of DNA methylation over boundaries of H3K4me3 peaks. DNA methylation is excluded from the bulk of genomic H3K4me3 sites even though above average DNA methylation can be observed on sequences flanking the H3K4me3 peaks.
