First AAA domain of Pex6p mediates Ubp15p interaction. The L40 reporter yeast cells were co-transformed with empty two-hybrid plasmids pPC86 and pPC97 (∼) or plasmids expressing the indicated proteins. Double transformants were lysed and subjected to a liquid β-galactosidase assay. β-Galactosidase activities (expressed in arbitrary units (U)) indicate binding and are represented as mean values of three independent experiments performed in duplicate.
