Imaging of red blood cells infected with malaria parasites (Plasmodium falciparum) in a standard thin blood smear is demonstrated using our lensfree super-resolution microscope shown in Fig. 1. The parasites are clearly visible in both amplitude and phase images of our lensfree microscope. 40× objective (NA = 0.65) bright-field microscope images of the same samples are also provided for comparison purposes, where the infected cells are marked with an arrow.
