Global score MBEA refers to the mean percentage of correct responses obtained on all the subtests of the Montreal Battery of Evaluation of Amusia (Peretz et al., 2003). Pitch discrimination task average refers to mean percentage of hits minus false alarms for 25, 50, and 100 cent deviation trials (controls obtained perfect scores; Hyde and Peretz, 2004). Amusics and controls were also selected to have average or above average intelligence, but the specific tests used to measure this varied between participants, and are not listed here.
