FIG. 10.

Probabilistic assignment expands and clarifies functional modules. This figures shows two alignments augmented by Græmlin 2.0's probabilistic assignment. Nodes with lower membership probabilities are shaded with fainter colors; black lines show the presence of one or more edges between a pair of equivalence classes. (A) Græmlin 2.0 identifies proteins in the chemotaxis module, but which are more strongly connected to the flagellum module, as members of both modules during the probabilistic assignment stage. (B) Græmlin 2.0 identifies two connected but distinct pathways for aminoacyl-tRNA biosynthesis and fatty acid biosynthesis during the probabilistic assignment stage.
