Table.

Mean age- and sex-adjusted weighted genetic risk score (GRS) (95% confidence interval) by parental history of diabetes in the PPP-Botnia and Framingham Offspring Studies (FOS)

PPP-Botnia Framingham Offspring
Number of parents with diabetes n Mean GRS n Mean GRS
0 3142 16.8 (16.8–16.9) 1438 16.6 (16.5–16.8)
1 965 16.9 (16.8–17.1) 363 16.8 (16.6–17.0)
2 112 17.1 (16.8–17.4) 35 17.3 (16.6–18.1)
ptrend 0.032 0.072

Ptrend corresponds to the regression coefficients for number of parents with diabetes as a predictor of GRS in generalized (PPP-Botnia) and mixed-effects (FOS) linear models. GRS consists of the same 33 single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in both cohorts except rs2237895 in PPP-Botnia and rs2237892 in FOS.
