The effect of myofibroblast location on activation of TECs and myofibroblasts. Thirteen myofibroblasts were located on a circular track as in Figure 16(g), but at various distances (20, 120, 220, 320 μm) from the duct periphery. When TECs and myofibroblasts are located close to each other, both cell types are activated at earlier times due to the relatively short diffusion distance.
