RNA was extracted from corneal ulcerative tissue, reverse transcribed, and processed for quantitative polymerase chain reaction. Data points represent individual patients with Aspergillus or Fusarium keratitis, and the values are presented as the log of relative gene expression (log[RQ]) relative to uninfected donor corneas calculated using the 2^−ΔΔCt method described in the text.
