The six strains indicated by asterisks were used for the sequence comparisons of O157-antigen gene clusters and their flanking regions. (B) Phylogenetic tree of the O157-antigen biosynthesis gene cluster from six O157:H7/non-H7 strains. The tree was constructed based on the concatenated sequences of 12 genes in the O157-antigen gene cluster. Neighbor-joining trees were generated by using Tamura-Nei model. A bootstrap test with 1,000 replicates was used to estimate the confidence of the branching patterns of the tree.
