Ethanol effects when averaged over 20 strains and sex. Gray bars represent saline injections while black bars are ethanol injections; white numbers on black bars indicate dosage in g/kg. Brackets show ± standard error of the mean. At the lower 1.25 g/kg dosage, impairment was observed on the balance beam and fixed speed rotarod, while accelerating rotarod, grip strength, and distance traveled in the open field showed an ethanol effect after the higher 1.75 g/kg dosage. Table 2 gives significance levels of the ethanol main effects.
