Effects of 8-cyclopentyl-1,3-dipropylxanthine (DPCPX) at the concentrations of 5 μM and 10 μM on the inhibitory responses of schisandrin (10 μM) and adenosine (100 μM) in (a) proximal (n = 4) and (b) distal isolated rat colon (n = 4). Pre-incubation of DPCPX for 15 min concentration-dependently attenuated the responses of adenosine in both proximal and distal colon (P < 0.05), whereas did not affect the responses of schisandrin (P > 0.05).
