The effects of vinculin depletion on DLD1 cells. (A) Vinculin and EPLIN depletion causes fragmentation of E-cadherin signals. Vinculin remains to colocalize with E-cadherin in EPLIN-depleted cells, as indicated by arrows. (B) In vinculin-depleted and vinculin/EPLIN double-depleted cells, the fragmented E-cadherin signals no longer associate with tense actin fibers.
