Frequency and total number of cells expressing the human CD235a in bone marrow and spleen of NOD/SCID/IL2Rγnull mice transfused 4 days earlier with CFSE-labeled EBs. Both CFSE-positive and CFSE-negative human CD235apos cells were detected in the organs of the animals after transfusion, an indication that some of the human Ebs had proliferated in vivo.

The frequency of human CD235a+ cells was obtained after subtracting the background signal observed in untreated controls.

*The total number of cells per organ was calculated assuming that a mouse contain 300 × 106 BM and 100 × 106 spleen cells [19].
