(A) Postinstruction median scores on the content assessment are significantly higher than on the pretest for each course. The largest gains in improvement are seen in the Sensory Biology and the Comparison Group (Biology II) course, in which 75% of the students postinstruction scored above the pretest 75th percentile. (B) Neurobiology students consistently have higher BAS scores than students in the other courses. Sensory Biology students show the largest increase in BAS scores postinstruction, with 75% of the students scoring above the preinstruction median score. (C) CAS scores are a more variable assessment measure. Significantly increased CAS scores were observed among the Sensory Biology students.
