E2F3 is required for the mitogen-induced, transcriptional activation of most known E2F-responsive genes. Wild-type, E2f3 mutant MEFs were synchronized by serum starvation. At each time point, RNA was isolated and equal amounts of RNA were subjected to Northern blot analysis to determine the pattern of expression of E2F-responsive genes (A,C).
