Analysis of Gb₃ expression on the surfaces of HK-2 cells. HK-2 cells were treated with Stx1 B subunits on ice for 1 h. The cells were subsequently washed and incubated with 13C4, an anti-Stx1 monoclonal antibody, on ice for 30 min. After centrifugation, the cells were washed and incubated with fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC)-conjugated anti-mouse IgG antibody for 30 min. After washing, the cells were subjected to fluorescence-activated cell sorter (FACS) analysis for membrane Gb₃ expression. The data shown are the means ± SEM for three independent experiments.
