Diverse 5.5 proteins from various Autographivirinae bind H-NS. (A) Full-length H-NS6His was coexpressed in strains of E. coli BL21(DE3), each containing a plasmid with a gp5.5 homologue as indicated on top. The ability of the two proteins to interact was assessed by SDS-PAGE and Coomassie after copurification using nickel chromatography.
