AtJMT ectopic expression in concert with NaMJE silencing creates a powerful metabolic sink in the JA pathway that outcompetes herbivory-induced JA and JA-Ile bursts, and in turn, compromises NaCOI1-mediated activation of NaTD and NaTPI expression but not that of JA biosynthesis genes.
