Changes in the PBMCs proviral burden over time. With the exception of week 24, the average proviral burden (log copies FIV DNA/106 cells) of the i.c.v. cats ranged from 7- to 163-fold greater than the i.p. cats. The average proviral burden in the i.c.v. cats across all time points was 27, 594 ± 9954 versus 2086 ± 730 for the i.p. cats. Values are mean ± SEM (* P < .05).
