Immunohistochemistry shows that (a) the adult-type enzymes sucrase isomaltase, trehalase and adenosine deaminase are aberrantly expressed in MUT mice. (b) In contrast, expression of suckling-period-specific enzymes such as argininosuccinate synthetase 1, lactase and β-galactosidase are lost.
