This demonstrates that the density of A as determined by λ (the mean number of events participated in) is non-linearly related to the density of C, the corresponding co-membership matrix. (b) Results of the density compensation procedure, where the lower straight line is the desired density in C and the upper curve is the density of A that is required. Because of the non-linear relationship of λ to the density in C (see text), a linear-interpolation of the λ parameter was used based on the resulting density in C.
