Telomerase activity of (A) novel TERC mutations and (B) novel TERT mutations were determined using the TRAP assay and are expressed as a % of wild-type activity. (C) A comparison of all TERC mutations (n = 23, blue circles) and TERT mutations (n = 15, pink diamonds) that we have studied shows that as a group, the TERC mutations give significantly lower residual telomerase activity (* P value = 0.04).
