Peptide array analysis of α3β1-binding to TIMP-2 defines a unique integrin-binding domain. α3β1-binding to TIMP-2 18-mer peptides mapped across the entire TIMP-2 sequence. The results demonstrated a clear peak of binding activity in the well containing peptide 9, with significant binding in the immediate N-terminal adjacent peptide sequences (peptides 8 and 7, see text). However, the α3β1-binding to peptides immediately C-terminal to peptide 9 was significantly diminished.
