GLP1-R immunoreactivity in mouse sciatic nerve. GLP1-R immunoreactivity is present in axons (A and B, arrowheads) and also in Schwann cell cytoplasm, where it is evident as perinuclear staining (brown reaction product surrounding the hematoxylin-counterstained Schwann cell nuclei) and signet ring profiles when Schwann cell nuclei are not in the plane of section (arrows in B). Note the lack of staining in the blood vessel or its cellular components subjacent to the epineurium (asterix in A).
