Bolded and underlined amino acids are believed to be critical for function, based on site-directed mutagenesis and/or mutational analysis in E. coli,29–30 and mouse GPAT427 or human AGPAT1,82 and by analysis of human disorders caused by deficiencies of AGPAT2,36–37 dihydroxyacetone phosphate acyltransferase (GNPAT),428 and tafazzin, which is a 1-palmitoyl-2-[14C]linoleoyl-phosphatidylcholine:monolysocardiolipin linoleoyltransferase.35,429
