Doxy-Vpr manifest the HIVAN phenotype. Renal cortical sections from the protocol A were stained with PAS and graded for severity of renal lesions. Representative microphotographs of renal cortical sections Doxy-Vpr and C-Vpr are shown. C-Vpr did not reveal any glomerular or tubular abnormalities; whereas, Doxy-Vpr showed both segmental glomerular lesions and microcyst formation.
