Figure 2. Effects of three oral doses of lorazepam on electroencephalogram (EEG) in 20 young healthy male volunteers. Lorazepam 0.5 mg, 1 mg, and 2 mg, and placebo were administered according to a crossover, double-blind design. Maps displayed are P values after lorazepam-placebo comparison. In absolute power analysis, lorazepam dose-dependently decreased Θ and α power, and increased β activity. Relative power disclosed an additional effect on δ power which was, also dose-dependently, increased. See Figure 1 for methods and maps color code. *Time post -administration.
