Cells were cultured on semi-permeable filters for 3 weeks and then supplied with lipid micelles for 24 h. After fixation, cells were embedded in LR White resin and ultrathin sections were incubated with anti-ApoA-IV antibodies followed by 18 nm gold particle-labelled secondary antibody. (A) Low magnification of the apical part of a cell (note the cell microvilli at the top left corner of the Figure). The lipid droplets appear as electron-lucent structures. Scale bar, 500 nm.
