The scanned H&E-stained tumor sections from control rats and rats treated with intravenously injected Doxil or 186Re-Doxil show the presence of viable tumor cells stained with hematoxylin (A). Control tumor was collected on day 20 post–therapy, whereas tumors from the intravenous Doxil- or 186Re-Doxil-treated groups were collected on day 28 post-therapy. Viable tumor cells with regions of necrosis are present in the tumors of control and treated rats.
