Phylogenetic analysis of Knk-like proteins from different taxa. Phylogenetic analysis of Knk homologs from arthropods, including several orders of insect species, sea urchin, and C. elegans as an outlier was done with MEGA 4.0 (16). Bootstrap analysis of 5,000 replications was carried out on trees inferred from the neighbor-joining method. Bootstrap values are shown in the cladogram at the branching points. Drosophila melanogaster, fruit fly (NP_649981.1); Anopheles gambiae, African malaria mosquito (XP_313797.4); Aedes aegypti, yellow fever mosquito (XP_001657332.1); Culex quinquefasciatus, Southern house mosquito (XP_001863519.1); Pediculus humanus corporis, head louse (XP_002430062.1); Tribolium castaneum, red flour beetle (AEM60136.1); Apis mellifera, honey bee (XP_394084.4); Nasonia vitripennis, parasitic wasp (XP_001606352.1); Acyrthosiphon pisum, pea aphid (XP_001950825.2); Daphnia pulex, water flea (EFX88131.1); Ixodes scapularis, deer tick (XP_002407022.1); Strongylocentrotus purpuratus, sea urchin (XP_001187728.1); Caenorhabditis elegans, roundworm (NP_508959.1).
