Liver damage induced by mousepox is reduced in the absence of SPI-2. BALB/c mice were infected s.c. with 103 PFU of ECTV or ECTV SPI-2 SADΔ or mock infected. Serum was collected at 6 days p.i., and levels of the liver enzymes aspartate aminotransferase (A) and alanine aminotransferase (B) were determined.
