(A) Responses of focal lesion and adjacent normal pancreas of the same subjects. (B) Responses of DiCHI pancreas.The experiments were performed in the presence of 5 mM glucose (G5) throughout. The concentration of CaCl2 was 1.25 mM except during 10 minutes when it was increased to 10 mM (Ca10). Tolbutamide (100 μM) and 10 mM arginine (Arg) were added as indicated. Forskolin (1 μM) was present in all experiments in A and in 1 series only in B. Values are mean ± SEM for the indicated number of subjects.
