Mass spectrometry analysis of tryptic peptides of subunit 6 and 47-kDa bands

The samples were prepared as described in the legend for Fig. 4. The gel was stained with the ProteoSilver^TM silver staining kit (Sigma). The revealed bands were excised and submitted to trypsin action in the gel. Tryptic peptides were extracted and analyzed by MALDI-TOF-TOF and by LC-MS/MS. The asterisks indicate that the methionine residues were oxidized.
