CILP-2 is cartilage extracellular matrix glycoprotein. A, immunoblot analysis of CILP-2 in 2-week-old cartilage guanidine HCl extract reveals the N-terminal fragment at ∼90 kDa. B, cartilage protein extract was subjected to N-glycosidase treatment. Products of the reaction were reduced and resolved on a 7.5% SDS-PAGE gel. The proteins were blotted to a PVDF membrane and probed with CILP-2 antiserum. The relative shift in mobility with N-glycosidase treatment indicates that CILP-2 contains N-linked oligosaccharides.
